Newsletter - 7/11/2023

Hi Team, Some important stuff in the newsletter as we race towards the end of the year so make sure you read all the way through, I'll be checking! Vicky's Voice Hello from the airport. I’m writing this as I wait to get on the plane to Blenheim for work (but I will stay on to get another NZ parkrun ticked off - it would be a waste otherwise!) First off apologies about the dinner night comms…there is NO dinner night in November and our final meal and awards night will be 7th December. See further on in the newsletter for details. It was another jam packed weekend of events and this weekend looks the same! I can’t keep up with your whereabouts - if you are going to an event and want your stats in the newsletter please email Stu via the committee email or complete the Facebook survey so he can track you. Finally we’ve sorted our next running abroad tour for 2024 to New Caledonia. If you’re interested let me know or visit the marathon tours website for full package details. https://www.marathons.co.nz/Search+by+Destinations/Australia+and+The+Pacific/New+Caledonia+Marathon.html Anyway good luck to everyone on the trails and river path this weekend - see you somewhere on the Round The Bridges course on Sunday! Vicky Runvember Angela has rallied the troops and got us taking part in Runvember where we do a minimum of 2km run or walk every day throughout the month. We will finish the month off with a run to the serve trust in Frankton with our non perishable food donations. Watch out for details in the next newsletter. Club spirit award Thursday is your last chance to vote for who you think has shown the most club spirit this year! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSccSQIx8ijuPQ5yE_e4w9OUNFpdoD-k0VG6BfKmwtwe8hDSeQ/viewform Jago Cup / Percy Lawn memorial - Sunday 26 November This is an annual team event similar to the memorial relay between us, Hamilton Marathon Clinic (HMC) and TA Marathon Clinic. HMC are the host club this year with the event based around their clubrooms in Ruakura. Details so far from HMC, it's a 4k course. We'll be looking for a volunteer Capitan to collect walker and runner names and organise the teams. Let us know if you're keen. December dinner night/ Prize giving The annual Prizegiving is on the 7th December so mark your calendars. Bring along a side or desert and let's cap off the year with a celebration of everyone's achievements this year after the traditional hash run. How are we doing? Remember, if you have any feedback on how the Club is doing, ideas for events or other suggestions please email us at committee@hamiltonroadrunners.org.nz or chat to one of the committee members, Sarah, Olive, Vicky, Stu, Gary, Wayne, Angela, Helen, Michelle, Anna, Andrew or Marlin. Thursday Club night 5:30 it's time for a jog or walk and a beverage but watch out for the roadworks, best to come in from Alison Street or in from Lake crescent as there's road closures on the corner of Lake Domain drive and Killarney road. Saturday Looks like HRR have most of the Uni volunteer roles covered this week, you never know they might push the stopwatch button 1/2 second early if they see the club shirt. The new Northern Pathway parkrun begins this weekend for those inaugural chasers. Some from HRR will be going on the 25th November if you’re keen. Sunday Round the bridges 6 or 12km! It's not too late to enter or come along and support the troops around the course. Have fun out there. We’ve booked a table for 11:30 at Joe’s Garage. Booked under Vicky. What's coming up? November
