Vicky’s Voice

I’m sounding like a broken record now but well done to everyone who ran and walked this weekend (especially to those who did both the Taniwha and Round the Bridges!) Check Stu’s stats for all the details!

Thanks to Tau, Val, Leanne, Noel and Raewyn for scoping out the new Northern Pathways parkrun - has a nice bit of elevation and can’t wait to try it out in a couple of weeks.

I had a good time in Blenheim and was pleased to tick the parkrun off - it’s a beautiful course along the river path with kinetic energy statues. The cafe also has a nice deck looking out onto the water! Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through.

We are getting to the final few weeks of the club now but there are plenty of things to keep us busy until then - check out what’s planned further on in the newsletter!

The events are coming in thick and fast with Pirongia and Queenstown this weekend! Good luck to everyone racing!

See you on Thursday for some more stretching for those that need it!

Vicky

Jago Cup / Percy Lawn memorial -  Sunday 26 November

This is an annual team event similar to the memorial relay between us, Hamilton Marathon Clinic (HMC) and TA Marathon Clinic. HMC are the host club this year with the event based around their clubrooms in Ruakura.

Get your name down on Thursday night or keep an eye out for an online form.

December dinner night/ Prize giving

The annual Prizegiving is on the Thursday 7th December so mark your calendars.  Bring along a side or desert and let's cap off the year with a celebration of everyone's achievements this year after the traditional hash run.

Thursday Club night

The final stretch and strength of the year with Anna.

For those who wish to run or walk meet at the usual time.

Neil is away this week so the bar might move a bit quicker .

Saturday

Anyone fancy a course C at Cambridge then join some of your HRR mates! They are also celebrating international men’s day - so wonder if there will be a cake shaped like a man or a moustache maybe! You can always join Marlin at Uni parkrun, HRR Run Directors are in charge there for the next 6 weeks. Or if neither of those suit Tau is report writer at the lake this week so look impressive and you may get a mention.

Sunday

We’ve not been to Horotiu for AGES so we will head out onto the river path for as long as we want in either direction! Refreshments at The Coffee Club at the Te Rapa Services at 10 - 10:30 depending on how long we take.
