Vicky's Voice

What a weekend!! Events galore and will it be an AB vs England final of the Rugby World Cup - here's hoping! Sorry to the South Africans in the club ;-)!

First off a huge congrats to Denyse and Steve Rossiter for smashing their Marathon PBs at the Melbourne Marathon, and congrats to Helen on an awesome first ever marathon - check out Stu's Stats for the full results.

Zilah, Lisa, Angela and Lynda had fun in Taupo. Lisa took on the epic 70km course with pacing support from Stephen Gwerder, Zilah smashed out a course PB on the 50km and managed to look bright and fresh in every photo!

Then Rod and Dick headed up to Auckland for the Sri Chimnoy...this was Dicks 149th Half Marathon so he is well and truly ready for his 150th which will take place in Auckland at the end of the month!

It was great to be at Hamilton Lake and celebrate the 10th Anniversary. We have a few HRR members who were at the very first event unfortunately many were away racing, but we did see the return of Kerin who also happened to complete his 99th parkrun so now we await his 100th - will that be on the next birthday I wonder?

With all that action it's a good job we've got Anna coming in for some runners stretch and strength - sounds like some of you will need it!

See you Thursday!

Vicky

Thursday

Stretch and Strength with Anna - possibly featuring the tennis ball!! If you know, you know.

Runs and walks for those who want to get out and stretch their legs in a different way.

Sunday

It's a long weekend so we will do a Joe's Garage hit at 9am for those still in town.

What's coming up?

Pink Walk and Run

The last Thursday of the month will be the Pink Walk and Run raising money for Breast Cancer Research.

Dress up in your pinkest outfits and run or walk around the Hamilton Lake. Entries are $20 and all money goes to Breast Cancer Research. There are some great spot prizes and we also need to retain our trophy for the first three fastest finishers from a club so make sure you say you are Hamilton Road Runners when you sign up. It's a shame we won't have Vincent in his landlady's skirt whizzing round the lake (haha!), but if you're one of the club's 5km speedsters here's your chance for fame and glory!

We will provide Andrew's (in)famous sausage sizzle back at the club afterwards and the bar will be open.
