Newsletter - 18 July 23

Hi Team,

Here’s the latest HRR newsletter - remember to read it to find out everything that’s happening this week.

Vicky’s Voice

I hope you all had a great long weekend. We had an enjoyable bonus run on the round the bridges courses followed by refreshments at Joe’s Garage which never lets us down.

The Club Champs seemed to go well and I was gutted to miss the sausage sizzle! Results to be announced on Thursday! I was in the Hawkes Bay and ran with former Road Runner, Michelle Goldsmith and one of her new clubs, Long Run Sundays. If you’re ever in the region and want a run I would definitely recommend catching up with these guys.

This week is an exciting week with lots on!

First up on Thursday Anna is back with another stretch session. We’ve given her your feedback from last time and so expect some homework.

Saturday is parkrun day where many of us are heading to GSR (apparently the cool kids name for Gordon Spratt Reserve parkrun - I prefer Pap Spratt but I’m not cool!) Wherever you are spending parkrun day don’t forget your tutu and ugly Christmas jumper as it’s time to celebrate both this week (tutus make you run faster #fact - I got my overall parkrun PB and my uni parkrun PB both whilst wearing a tutu!)

Sunday it’s back to Rototuna for a Gully Run meeting at Callum Brae mini golf, Tauhara Park, 9am. If you’ve not done this one you’re in for a treat!

Mid winter Christmas dinner is happening next week so remember to let us know whether you’re coming. There will be an organised run organised by Lex so look out for details next week.

I’m in Blenheim this week so enjoy your stretching with Anna (I would’ve stayed for parkrun but would get GSR Fomo so back to the North Island it is!) See most of you on Saturday!

Vicky

Thursday

Stretching with Anna at 5.45. Bring a mat if you have one and wear comfy clothes.

Saturday

It’s the 22nd of the month so it’s time to get the tutu out. Also for those who like a bit of mid winter Christmas cheer get your ugly Christmas shirt or jumper out too!

Sunday

9am, Callum Brae Mini Golf, Tauhara Park. Follow our strava group for exact map.
